Allie Graham, the lead singer of alt-rock band Eclectic Girls, has just returned home from her first world tour. Now she's ready to tackle the next challenge. She joins the All-Stars cast of a music reality TV show, determined to impress everyone with her renditions of the other cast members' biggest hits. But when pop music superstar Will Denham publicly insults her, she swears she'll show him that she's not just a pretty face but a credible songwriter. She has seven episodes to do it. Unfortunately, her cover version of his song only leads everyone to demand that they record a duet together. She'd rather be caught lip-synching than do that, especially after her new songwriting partner reveals some unsavory facts about Will's past behavior. To make matters worse, her matchmaking manager wants her to fake-date Will to boost the band's streams. After all, it is a truth universally acknowledged that a scandal-ridden pop star must be in want of good publicity.
